Belgian Bliss

Join us for our second in a series of 5-course Gourmet Beer Dinners in the intimate setting of the Motley Cow Cafe, 327 East Market St., Iowa City, Iowa. Emphasis will be on Belgian beers and complementary cuisine. Dinners will be lead with beer expertise by Doug Alberhasky of John’s Grocery.


Course I
Turkey Bratwurst
Sweet Potato Fries
Garlic Mustard Wostyntie Mustard Ale, a inviting ale made with dark candy sugar and mustard seeds.

Course II
Delice de Bourgogne Triple Cream Cheese
Rye Crackers
Fennel-Candied Pears
De Ranke XX Bitter, the Hop King of Belgium

Course III
Beer-Brasied Beef
Cheddar Custard
Egg Noodles
Garlic-Braised Greens
Gulden Draak, the Richest Darkest Triple

Course IV
Mesclun with Orange Ginger Dressing
Cabbage Sprouts
Vapeur Cochonne, a Spiced Strong Ale

Course V
Lemon Cheesecake
Dried Fruit Compote
Toasted Almonds
Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus Lambic, a mixture of Belgian Black Cherries and Raspberries is one of the best!

When/where:
We’ll begin at 7 PM on Wednesday, November 19, at the Motley Cow Cafe (327 E. Market St.) and we expect to get wrapped up by 10:00 or 10:30 (or so).

Tickets:
Cost is $55.00 per person (includes tax and gratuity and a free glass). Reservations may be made using our on-line reservation form. Seating is limited.
Reservations must be made or cancelled by November 17.
