It’s turkey time again, make sure you checked everything off your shopping list. What’s that? In the mad dash at the grocery store, you forgot wine! I happen to know a place that can help you out, John’s Grocery of course. We will be open 9 am to midnight today and tomorrow, and from 9 to 4 on Thanksgiving day. Don’t forget to check the Press Citizen for our Black Friday ad, we have great products across all departments on sale!
I have two delicious Pinot Noirs that are my top picks for turkey. Primarius from Oregon is the workhorse, mostly due to it’s meager price of $14.99. This exceptional value from the Northwest has rich aromatics of red fruit and Christmas spice, it’s juicy on the palate, but balanced with bright acidity and a touch of oak. Heck, Primarius is hams best friend too!

My other Pinot pick just landed itself on Wine Spectators Top 100 list with a 90 point rating, Pali Riviera from the Sonoma Coast in California. While sharing many similarities with the Primarius, it differentiates itself with another layer of savory earthiness in the mouth. Refreshing acidity and a nice dose of cracked pepper on the finish will leave you and your guests wanting more. We have it at $17.99 a bottle. More info here.
